Village Indigo-bird length 11cm 靛青蜡喙雀
Breeding male is distinctive, all glossy blue-black above with white bill and orange-red legs.
A race occurring along the East African coast differs by having a red bill. Female and
non-breeding male are similar with dark-streaked brown upperparts, a broad buff strip down the
centre of the crown and a buffy streak over the eye. The underparts are whitish, and the bill is
horn-coloured. Immature is similar to femal. A widespread species, found in open woodlands,
cultivated lands and in gardens.  靛青蜡喙雀：雄性繁殖羽通体腚青色、喙白、爪橘红色。 另一变种出没于东非海岸， 喙为红色。雌鸟和雄性非繁殖羽相似，上体深棕色条纹，一条较宽浅黄色条纹冠头，淡黄色眉纹；下体发白，喙带角质色。亚成鸟与雌鸟相似。出没于丛林、耕地以及庭院，但数量很少，通常成对出现。P12模糊的是雌鸟。
